Golf Balls

The golf balls that were first invented were made of wood. Around the 17th century another type of ball was invented; these were called "featherie" balls. A featherie is a hand sewn leather pouch stuffed with goose feathers and coated with paint. Under the Rules of Golf, a golf ball weighs no more than 1.620 oz (45.93 grams), has a diameter not less than 1.680 in (42.67 mm), and performs within specified velocity, distance, and symmetry limits.

There are two types of balls that are available in the golf store these days, the recreational and advanced. The recreational balls are generally two layered balls that are cheaper to manufacture. The advanced balls provide more spin power to the user and are made with more than 3 layers.

If you want to improve your game, you need to pay attention to the type, covering material, core structure, and compression rates of your balls.
